Tresanton is a cluster of five houses on the edge of St Mawes, one of the prettiest fishing villages in Cornwall. It was originally created as a yachtsmen’s club, and all rooms have stunning views across the sea towards St Anthony’s lighthouse. Olga Polizzi spent two years redesigning all 30 bedrooms with antiques and Cornish art, the restaurant has tongue and groove walls and mosaic floors.

Hotel Endsleigh is a Grade I historic house set in 100 acres of fairy tale woodland, follies and grottos created by Humphry Repton. The Duke of Bedford, who owned a third of Devon, fell in love with this place and chose this spot for his fishing and hunting lodge. In 2004 Olga Polizzi bought Endsleigh and together with her daughter Alex restored it as a luxury hotel. Many of the 18 bedrooms have magnificent views of the gardens, the River Tamar and beyond into Cornwall.
