Vivid Sydney 2015
a travel video by Timeflees - Filippo Rivetti
Engaging lighting artists, designers and manufacturers from around Australia and the world, it illuminates, interprets and transforms Sydney’s urban spaces.
This was my second year shooting for Vivid Sydney and Destination NSW, and the festival was even bigger than the previous year: the video shows just a fraction of the more than 100 sequences I shot during the 18 days of the festival.

Sydney in a Nutshell
Visiting Australia and skipping Sydney would be virtually impossible. Sydney is where the country’s most recognizable attractions are to be found: the famous Sydney Opera House, historic Circular Quay, single-arched Sydney Harbour Bridge and postcard-perfect Bondi Beach. Being surrounded by National Parks, Sydney is also a blessed by nature metropolis.
A Harbour Like No Other
Whenever flying to or from Kingsford Smith Airport, you may find more people staring at the plane’s windows than usual – and there’s a simple explanation for that. They will all be admiring the privileged view over Sydney’s spectacular Harbour, a large body of water that leaves no one indifferent.
Sydney Harbour is a destination in its own right: from its epicentre – Circular Quay – enthusiastic visitors are invited to board on one of the many ferries available and get a feel of the beautiful locations that, one after another, are revealed. Before getting to ocean-facing Manly, experience on your left the sights of Kirribilli, Cremorne Point, Mosman Bay and take the opportunity to wave at giraffes as you pass by Taronga Zoo. On your right side, the scenic landscapes won’t be any worse: Sydney Opera House, Darling Point, Rose Bay and exclusive Watsons Bay.
Skyscrapers, Victorian Houses, Golden Sand Beaches and More
If there’s a city in the world that has it all, that could well be Sydney. Here’s a metropolis that offers a vibrant city centre with glimmering skyscrapers, iconic man-made landmarks, beautifully landscaped parks, lovely Victorian architecture, a long list of beaches to enjoy (not only world-famous Bondi Beach) and a particularly creative, welcoming vibe that can only be experienced in Australia’s most emblematic city.
